Dear blog!

Dear blog!

I'm sorry I'm neglecting you so terribly. I've been awfully busy lately as Christmas is getting closer and the days just seem to have too few hours.

I can report that my scales at home have finally given me the best early Christmas present: I now weigh less than a hundred kilos! Yes, I'm back to to two numbers instead of three before the comma, and god it feels good! :-)

My next official weigh-in will be next week, one week early, due to the upcoming holidays. I will report back after that. Still going strong without food, and I must say I have fantastic support from lots and lots of people, both at home, at work and around the world thanks to Facebook :-)

Thanks so much for making this journey so rewarding!

Weigh-in number 5

After my super late update on weigh-in number 4, I thought I'd share weigh-in number 5 at once. As usual, let's start by looking back:

On October 26th, the scales showed the following:

Weight
111,4 kg
BMI
36,4
Fat %
40,3 %
Fat mass
44,9 kg
Total body water
48,7 kg

Today, on November 24th, the scales showed:

Weight102,9 kg
BMI33,6
Fat %32,5 %
Fat mass33,4 kg
Total body water50,9 kg

To summarize:
Weight-8,5 kg
BMI-2,8
Fat %-7,8 %
Fat mass-11,5 kg
Total body water+2,2 kg

Total:

Weight-35,7 kg
BMI-11,7
Fat %-14,3 %
Fat mass-31,5 kg
Total body water-3,1 kg

I was wearing tights at my weigh-in today and asked my instructor if I should take them off since the scale measures body fat etc. He said we could try with the tights and take them off in case the numbers seemed inaccurate. He felt that the fat% and fat mass seemed odd so he asked me to take the tights off. When I did the scales showed an even lower fat% and fat mass :-)

REALLY pleased with this week's results, 8,5 kg lost but 11,5 kg of fat lost! :-)

Weigh-in number 4

Ooops! I totally forgot to update the blog for a few weeks, and when I did, it wasn't with the weigh-in results... So, here are the results from 4 weeks ago. Let's start by looking back:

On September 28th, the scales showed the following:

Weight118,3 kg
BMI38,6
Fat %43,6 %
Fat mass51,6 kg
Total body water48,8 kg

On October 26th, the scales showed:

Weight111,4 kg
BMI36,4
Fat %40,3 %
Fat mass44,9 kg
Total body water48,7 kg
To summarize:
Weight-6,9 kg
BMI-2,2
Fat %-3,3 %
Fat mass-6,7 kg
Total body water-0,1 kg

Total:

Weight-27,2 kg
BMI-8,9
Fat %-6,5 %
Fat mass-20 kg
Total body water-5,3 kg

I will follow up with this week's results in my next post!

To see the results you've been craving

Had a great weekend! One thing that's been on my list for quite some time now has been to a) get my legs waxed and b) try on my clothes that I had to put away once I was well off the wagon last time around. So on Saturday it was time for those two things. Legs smooth I tried on lots of clothes Saturday night, and - success! This will be a fall/winter with skirts skirts skirts. I've always loved skirts but have rarely used them. So now I have lots of cute skirts that fit me perfectly (even had to discard a couple that were more or less falling off me!).

Now I just need to unearth the sweaters that will go with them... :-)

Old lady?

Thanks hubby. Love you too. Hrmpf...

Nothing like when people tell "how it really is". Hubby has been very supportive and encouraging every step of my weight loss. He tells me when he notices changes in my body (and with 20 kg lost, there are some changes for sure!). But - last night, he pointed out a huge disadvantage of losing weight fast (20 kg in under 2 month surely qualifies as "fast"). "Honey, you have to start doing some exercise, you are getting all wrinkly!" Oh no! Am I starting to look like an old lady??? According to hubby, I'm getting "wrinkly" not only around my tummy (which I have noticed) but also around my legs.

So this weekend, I will dive into my workout magazines and look for the best body firming exercises I can do at home. Don't want to end up with huge amounts of excess skin around my body!

Any advice?

Weigh-in number 3

Yesterday it was time for my third weigh-in. The numbers were really pleasing to say the least:

On August 31st, the scales showed the following:

Weight126,6 kg
BMI41,3
Fat %45,3 %
Fat mass57,4 kg
Total body water50,7 kg

Yesterday, On September 28th, the scales showed:

Weight118,3 kg
BMI38,6
Fat %43,6 %
Fat mass51,6 kg
Total body water48,8 kg

To summarize:

Weight-8,3 kg
BMI-2,7
Fat %-1,7 %
Fat mass-5,8 kg
Total body water-1,9 kg

Total:

Weight-20,3 kg
BMI-6,7
Fat %-3,2 %
Fat mass-13,3 kg
Total body water-5,2 kg

I also filled in the xtravaganza wheel, and I'm doing quite well on all points except the mind training. I just don't seem to remember to listen to the CD - I like those 15 minutes in the beginning of each class, but at home I just don't do it. I've decided to "schedule" these 15 minutes in my calendar, trying to do it at least 3 times a week.

Weigh-in number 2

This post is long overdue. I had this weigh-in on August 31st, and the next one is scheduled for Wednesday, so I thought I'd share my last results before it's time to share the new ones!

I'm really pleased so far, and having weighed myself at home every now and then, I know that Wednesday's weigh-in will be a good one too! Stay tuned!

Weigh-in number 1

Yesterday it was time for my re-weigh-in at xtravaganza. I'll post my weigh ins the same way I used to last time around:

Weight138,6 kg
BMI45,3
Fat %46,8 %
Fat mass64,9 kg
Total body water54 kg

Before I fell off the wagon I was about 86 kg (starting at 131 kg).

Told you it was bad... But hey, no use in fretting about it, I just will have to do the same things I used to and I will lose it all (and more)!

Nothing much to say about it, is there? Well, day 2 is almost over with, I feel the light signs of the diet kicking in which are typical for the first 4-5 days (slight headache, fatique). In the weekend it will all be over and I will be back to normal! One good thing about having done this before, knowing what will happen next! :-)

So, what's the verdict guys? Shocked, eh? Let me know if you'll be following my long road to my skinny jeans (bought a pair last time around I never "shrunk" into, sooo pretty but oh so small)! I'd love to hear from you in the comments section!

Back on track!

Well. It's been a while. Erm... No good excuse really, only bad ones. Some of you may or may not have followed my progress "the last time around" on Metrobloggen. Feel free to check back and see how I did. No weight loss posts after January 2010 - I guess you can imagine what happened... Well, I stuck with the programme until the summer (even ran the 5k I mentioned wanting to do), but after that it went downhill. And downhill. And downhill. I told myself I would get back on the wagon time and time again, but it never happened.

Until this summer when I just was fed up with it. Deciding I couldn't ignore the facts anymore (and deciding I had bought my very last pair of pants in a bigger size than I dare admit), I set a date for a "fresh start". And what better date than the 1st of August, being a Monday and also the day I was back at work after my summer holiday.

So 1½ years after stopping to weigh myself (seriously, I didn't once step on the scales - though my clothes were telling me how bad it was), I stepped back on the scales at Xtravaganza yesterday and here we are, back on a vanilla shake in the morning, an asparagus soup at lunchtime and my beloved chocolate mousse at night. 1½ days so far and it feels great to be back!

I will list my weigh-in results in the next post, and I'm hoping for some encouraging cheering on. Please? :-)
